FC 26 PlayStyles

All 36 PlayStyles in 6 categories, each with what it changes, what the + version adds and the moment on the pitch where you notice it. 28 of them sit on top of an input you press, and those link straight to the control they change.

How PlayStyles work

What a PlayStyle is
A PlayStyle belongs to a player, not to your controller. It adds no new input: it changes how one thing that player already does behaves - how quickly a shot leaves the foot, how far a throw travels, how often a standing tackle comes away with the ball. Two players pressing exactly the same buttons get different results, and that difference is the PlayStyle.
What the + version adds
Every PlayStyle has a base version and a + version. The + is the elite tier of the same ability rather than a different one, so nothing changes about which buttons you press - the same action simply comes off better. A player can carry both kinds at once: several base PlayStyles and, if they are that good in real life, one or more marked with a +.
Which ones you can actually press
28 of the 36 sit directly on top of an input: there is a button combination that triggers the action the PlayStyle improves, and it is listed on each of those below. The other 8 are passive - the game applies them on its own when the situation comes up, and they are mostly the defending and goalkeeper ones.
PlayStyles are not Player Roles
The two systems are easy to confuse because both sit on the player. A Role decides where a player runs and what job they do in your shape. A PlayStyle decides how well one action comes off when they get there. A player has both, and neither replaces the other.
Where to find them in game
A player carries their PlayStyles on their card and in the player bio screen, with the + ones marked apart from the base ones. There is no screen that shows every PlayStyle in the game at once, which is why a list like this one is worth keeping open while you read a squad.
